Ethel Margaret Spencer, daughter of Ellen E. Christensen and Charles Spencer was born in Rochester, Iowa, on August 17, 1898, and passed away at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Iowa, Jan. 24, 1955, at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 7 days.

She spent her entire life in the Tipton community, with the exception of several years spent in Waterloo, Iowa, when she was a girl. On Nov. 16, 1925, she was married to Charles Murray, who passed away in January, 1948.

She was united in marriage to Adam Kleppe on Oct. 28, 1953, in the Little Brown church at Nashua, Iowa. They made their home on Mr. Kleppe's farm northeast of Bennett.

She took suddenly ill and was in the hospital about 12 days before her passing.

She was a good friend and neighbor to everyone and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. E. Christensen of Waterloo, Iowa; her father, Charles Spencer of Rochester, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Lovella Brown of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Guy Rutter, of Waterloo, Iowa and Mrs. Galen Clark of Lakewood, Calif.; two step-children, Mrs. Harold Ford and LaMoyne Murray of Tipton. Another step-daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Bierman, passed away Aug. 18, 1954. Also six step-grandchildren, four nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Jan. 27, 1955, at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home in Tipton, with Rev. A. C. Long officiating, and interment in Inland cemetery, Bennett.
