Mrs. John Klatt, nee Martha Fehling, was born April 4, 1885 at Clarence, Iowa, to Christ and Elizabeth Fehling, nee Kahl.

On October 15, 1908, she was united in marriage with John Klatt at Lowden, Iowa, and this union was blessed with two daughters.

Mrs. Klatt spent her entire life time in this community. She was a member of St. John's Church and The Women's Guild.

Mrs. Klatt entered into rest suddenly on October 26, 1953, at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 22 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband; two daughters; Irene--Mrs. Edwin Meyer, Leona--Mrs. Otto Frey, all of Clarence. Also three grandsons, one sister Mrs. Henry Hasenbank of Clarence; two brothers, William Fehling of Lowden and Walter Fehling of Clarence. One sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Clarence, Iowa at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 1953 in charge of Rev. Edward J. Bowers. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet and was accompanied at the organ by Rosalle Hartwig. In charge of the floral pieces were Mrs. Alvina Bachman, Mrs. Nobert Ebert and Mrs. A. H. Bouschlicher. Pallbearers were Fred Ebers, Norbert Ebert, Wm. Ibsen, Henry Horstmann, Elmore Ruther and Wayne Merritt.

Interment was made in St. John's Cemetery.
