Henry W. Eiler, aged 62 years and 17 days, passed away at the farm home of his son, Harold Eiler, near Tipton, on Sunday night, March 29, 1953, after a lingering illness.

Henry William Eiler was born on a farm near Lowden, March 12, 1891, the son of Frederick and Alma Meiners Eiler. Two years later they moved to a farm northwest of Tipton. Henry received his education in the rural schools near his home in Clarence. He was confirmed in the Evangelical and Reformed church at the age of 15 years. He remained with his parents until he began farming on his own, which he continued as his life work. During this time he built up a well known purebred Angus herd, which was the source of his deepest pride and interest.

He is survived by two sons, Willard of Stanwood, Harold of Tipton, a daughter Mrs. Lucile Kirk of Tipton; five brothers, Ernest, August, Fred and William of Tipton, and Charles of Stanwood; three sisters, Mrs. Freida Miller of Clarence, Mrs. Anna Butterbrodt and Mrs. Ella Willer of Tipton. He also leaves to mourn his passing 6 grandchildren, 36 nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services were held at the Peterseim funeral home in Tipton on Tuesday, March 31, 1953, at 2 p.m., with Rev. A. C. Long as pastor. Interment was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
