Ernest C. Hasselbusch was born October 27, 1892 in Massillon Township, Cedar County, Iowa, to Ernest and Lena Hulse Hasselbusch.

On January 11, 1917, he was united in marriage with Amelia Goldsmith and this union was blessed with three children.

Mr. Hasselbusch passed away on Friday, March 13, 1953, having attained the age of 60 years, 4 months and 16 days.

He was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Brotherhood, Mt. Hope Lodge No. 501 A.F. & A.M., and Clarence Chapter No. 461 Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Norma Jean--Mrs. Eugene Stranz of Buffalo, N.Y.; one son, Lloyd of Clarence; two brothers, Paul of Clarence and Martin of Stanwood.

One daughter, Evelyn, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Services were conducted at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Clarence, Iowa, by the Rev. Edward J. Bowers, on Sunday, March 15, 1953, at 2 p.m. The music was furnished by a Men's quartette with Eleanor Conrad at the organ. In charge of the many beautiful floral pieces were Esther Von Muenster, Alma Ernsting and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Saunders. The pallbearers were Earl Elijah, Henry Von Muenster, S. G. Paul, Harry Decker, Vern Freeman and Dewey Rhatigan.

A Masonic service was also held at the church.

Interment was made in St. John's Cemetery.
