Louis Giese died at his home at Rochester, Minn., on December 13th of cardiac asthma at the age of 49 years and 10 days. Having not been feeling good for several days, he took very sick Sunday and three days later on Tuesday evening he died. His widow, one daughter and one son survive to mourn his demise.

Mr. Giese was born near Kiel, Germany, but for many years resided at Lowden. About two months ago Mr. and Mrs. Giese moved from here to Rochester, Minn., where he followed his trade as painter and yesterday morning the sorrowing widow arrived here with the remains. Funeral services were held here at the Evangelical church yesterday afternoon. Rev. Werning officiated. The remains of Mr. Giese were taken to DeWitt where burial will take place today.

Deceased was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and of the American Patriots, carrying life insurance in both of these orders. He also belonged to the Lowden Krieger Verein.
