Mrs. Christine Louise Charlotte Sasse, nee Dehne, was born March 29, 1838, at Rannenberg, district Cassel, in Prussia, Germany. She was married to the late Carl Sasse April 6, 1892, and this union was blessed with two daughters. In 1869 they came to America and settled on a farm near Lowden, afterward moving here where they resided until the death of her husband. A short time later on account of her advanced age she decided to make her home with her youngest daughter, Mrs. John Kahl, where she finished her life's work and answered the call which came Wednesday, November 27. The cause of her death being lung fever and weakness of the heart. She leaves to mourn her two widowed daughters, Mrs. John Kahl, of near Clarence, and Mrs. Wm. H. C. Licht, of near Lowden, and one brother, Carl Dehne, of Lowden, 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Kahl, last Saturday at 10:30 o'clock. Rev. J. H. Brammer officiating. Interment was made in the Lowden cemetery.
