Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Leonard Leo Longerbeam, 53, were held in the Horner Funeral home Nov. 27. The Rev. James Nelson officiated at the service and Mrs. Calvin Robinson was organist.

Don Kamberling, Don Driscoll, Melvin Pauls, Walter Taylor, George Snyder and Bernard Achenbach were pallbearers. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Longerbeam died unexpectedly in the University hospitals, Iowa City, where he was taken by ambulance after becoming ill at his home.

Leonard Leo Longerbeam was born Jan. 19, 1918. His parents were Charles and Pearl Young Longerbeam. He farmed all his life in the Mechanicsville community.

He is survived by a brother, Harold, Galena, Mo. and a sister, Mrs. Ray Collins, Mt. Vernon and 2 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 nephews.
