Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Harlan B. Henderson, 75, former resident of Mechanicsville were held in the United Methodist church, Olin, Oct. 11. The Rev. Lawrence Odegard officiated at the service with music by Mrs. Ronald Rogers.

Busch-Dennis American Legion Post 309 were in charge of graveside services. Mr. Henderson was a charter member of the post.

Burial was in the Olin cemetery with Buell Jackson, Glenn Brown, Nile Husman, Gordon Freeman, Eli Shada and Clyde Taylor pallbearers.

Harlan B. Henderson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Anna Barr Jackson) Henderson, was born April 13, 1896 in Mechanicsville. He was married to Mary Hefflefinger July 2, 1919. They made their home on a farm near here until moving to Olin in 1943. He farmed with his son, Dean, until 1961. For several years he was a salesman and worked for the development of the Henderson sub-division in southeast Olin.

Mr. Henderson was a member of the Legion having served with the 88th (Cloverleaf) division in France in World War I. He died in a Cedar Rapids hospital Oct. 8.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Dean; 3 grandchildren, Jana, Deanne and Ross and 2 sisters, Mrs. Vera Dauber and Mrs. Clair (Verna) Hefflefinger.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry.

Among those attending the funeral services were Harry Imster, St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Walker, Huntsville, Ala.; Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Cook, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Balwin and family, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Phillips, Hartley.
