Wilhelm Esbaum was born at Minden, Westphalia, Germany, on Dec. 23rd, 1825. He came to America in 1894, and resided for the first six years with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dammeier, and since 1900 he made his home with his son, Carl Esbaum, and family, six miles south of Lowden, and it was at this home where Wilhelm Esbaum died Tuesday morning, March 9th, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 14 days, after suffering but a short time with bowel trouble.

His wife and one son, having died before him, there survive to mourn the aged man's demise, one son, two daughters and thirteen grandchildren in this country, and four sons and their children in Germany.

Funeral was held yesterday, with services in the Lutheran church at Lowden conducted by Rev. J. H. Brammer and they layed father Esbaum to rest in the Lutheran cemetery here. "Friede seiner Asche."
