John Drichel Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Drichel of Fairview, six miles southwest of Lowden, died Tuesday evening, September 13th, at their home of pneumonia at the age of 18 years, 2 months and 29 days.

The young man complained some of not feeling good last Sunday, but stayed about, and Monday morning he did his work as always, but got worse and went to lay down after the morning work. A physician was called and everything possible was done, but the angel of death made short work of it, the boy died Tuesday evening about six o'clock.

John Drichel Jr. was born in Springfield Twp., on June 14, 1892. He grew up here, went to school here and worked with his parents on the farm. His sudden end was a hard blow to his parents, three sisters and two brothers, who survive to mourn his demise. All here deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.

Funeral was held today with services in the Evangelical church at Lowden and interment in the Van Horn cemetery. Rev. Werning conducted the services. Many friends were in attendance and there were a large and beautiful assortment of florals pieces.
