Funeral services for James Burgess, 71, Richland Center, Wis., a former resident of Stanwood, were held at Richard Center Feb. 8 with military services at the cemetery.

Mr. Burgess died in a Richland Center hospital Feb. 8. He was born near Stanwood July 2, 1899 and was graduated from Stanwood high school in 1918.

He is survived by his wife and a sister, Mrs. Herman Wendt, Mechanicsville.

Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wendt and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Wendt, Mechanicsville; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Burgess, Bellwood, Ill.; Mary Gene Burgess, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Charles Burgess and Joe Burgess, both of Olin.
