Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Neil Williams, 61, were held Thursday in the United Methodist church at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Nelson officiated at the service.

Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Norman Williams, Roland Quimby, Raymond Hintz, Lowell Tvedt, Norman Potter and Edgar Hintz Jr. were pallbearers. Horner Funeral service was in charge.

Mr. Williams died Christmas afternoon at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids. He had been a heart patient there for about a week.

Neil Robert Williams was born Aug. 8, 1911, in Viola, Minn. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton (Lenora David) Williams. He was educated in the rural Minnesota schools.

Mr. Williams was married May 30, 1931 to Margaret L. Spencer in Muscatine. They farmed for many years and then moved to Northhome, Minn. where they ran a resort for a number of years before returning to Mechanicsville.

He is survived by a son, John, of Clarence and a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Janet) Cook. Also 2 brothers, Herman and Earl, both of Kasson, Minn. and 4 grandchildren.

His wife, Margaret, parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters have preceded him in death.
