Funeral services for Mae Gortner, 97, were held the morning of Dec. 19 at Turner's chapel in Cedar Rapids. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery at Mechanicsville.

She was born Dec. 28, 1874 in Mechanicsville and died Dec. 17 at her home in Cedar Rapids following a long illness. Before moving to Cedar Rapids 50 years ago she lived in Mechanicsville. Her father was in the Helmer and Gortner State Bank.

A sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Helmer and brother, John Gortner, preceded her in death.
