Funeral services for Mrs. Amelia Walshire, 77, were held Oct. 1 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's church in Mechanicsville. The Rev. P. J. Casey offered the mass. Dale Studer, Robert Dauber, Lawrence Dauber, Ralph Burge, James Dauber and Morris Kohl were pallbearers. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery with Horners Funeral service in charge.

Mrs. Walshire died Sept. 29 at the Hallmark Nursing home, Mt. Vernon, after a long illness.

Amelia Laverna Dauber Walshire was born Oct. 4, 1894 in West Virginia, the daughter of John and Arminta Piersall Dauber. She was educated in the rural Cedar county schools and was married to Arthur Walshire Feb. 22, 1922. They lived in Nebraska for several years and then moved to the Mechanicsville area. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Walshire was preceded in death by her husband and 2 brothers. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Floyd (Pheba) Dallas, Indianapolis, Ind., and several nieces and nephews.
