Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Cruse, 77, were held at the United Methodist church Sept. 25 with the Rev. James R. Nelson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers were Melvin Dettman, Wilber Comer, James Rife, Richard Zenishek, Floyd Albaugh and James Kruse. The Chancel choir sang, with Mrs. Calvin Robinson as organist.
Mrs. Kruse died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Sept. 23.
The daughter of William and Mary Allison Rhodes, she was born in Carlisle, Pa., March 19, 1895 and came to Iowa in 1912. She was married to Joe Cruse at Omaha, Neb. in 1920.
She was a member of the Methodist church in Mechanicsville, the American Legion Auxiliary and several community social clubs.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Herb (Aireta) Crock, Olin; a son, Marlyn, Marion; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. C. F. Reaugh, Marshalltown and Mrs. William Fairley, Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Arthur.
