Funeral services for Allen Byers Jackson, 83, were held at the Methodist church in Mechanicsville Sept. 25 with the Rev. James Nelson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were LeRoy, John, Ronald, Larry, Gary, Arlen and Loren Jackson.

Mr. Jackson died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Sept. 23.

The son of Frank and Minna Pieper Jackson, he was born in Cedar county Aug. 19, 1889 and was educated in the Evergreen and Mechanicsville schools. He was married to Bessie Boots at Morley Dec. 15, 1915.

He farmed in the rural Mechanicsville area for many years. He was a member of the Methodist church at Mechanicsville.

He is survived by 2 sons, Buell and Mearle, Mechanicsville; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 5 sisters, Mrs. Nella Hawthorne, Mrs. Elmer (Alta) Cruse and Mrs. Dorothy Wright, all of Tipton and Mrs. Myrtle Farrington and Mrs. Clarence (Mae) Chamberlain, both of Olin.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
