Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Arthur Nickolas Saum, 62, were held Sept. 7 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic church. The Rev. P. J. Casey offered the Requiem mass.

Erwin Wagner, Charles Mulherin, Clarence Maher, Mearle Jackson, Richard Nebergall and Howard Rhoads were pallbearers with burial in the Rose Hill cemetery. Horner Funeral Home was in charge.

Mr. Saum died Sept. 4 in Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids. The son of Ray and Mary Fisher Saum, he was born Aug. 7, 1910 in Jones County. He was educated in the Olin High school. Mr. Saum was married Dec. 27, 1932 to Mary Dauber of Mechanicsville. They lived on a farm northeast of Mechanicsville until retiring and moving to town. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, and several nieces and nephews. His parents and a sister preceded him in death.
