Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Lewis Hartman, 61, a lifelong resident of the Mechanicsville area, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mechanicsville United Methodist church. Rev. James Nelson officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery with Morgan Funeral home, Lisbon, in charge.

Pallbearers were Lafe Hudachek, Clifford Dickey, Earl Fairley, Paul Thimmes, Kenneth Weber and Wilbur Colby.

Hartman died Monday, March 20 at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, where he had been a patient 2 weeks.

He was born May 13, 1910 in Linn county schools. He married Helen Farmer, Feb. 18, 1939, in Clinton. The couple has a son, Jay, at home. Hartman was an area farmer all of his working life. He attended the Methodist church in Mechanicsville.

Survivors besides his wife and son include 2 brothers, Milo and Leo; 5 sisters, Mrs. Verl Crain, Mrs. James Butler, Mrs. Raymond White, Mrs. Howard Cross and Mrs. C. E. Trimble. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Mrs. Harold Longerbeam.
