Mechanicsville - Funeral service for Mrs. Josephine (Jo) Trump, 74, were held Wednesday, March 22 at 2 p.m. in the Horner Funeral home with the Rev. Norman Lawton officiating.

William Shrope, Purl Pearson, Hugh Lamont, James Cook, J. C. Butler and John Mullan were pallbearers. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Trump died March 19 in the Hallmark Nursing home, Mt. Vernon, after a long illness.

Josephine Rachel Hatcher Trump was born March 9, 1879, in Mechanicsville, the daughter of Charles and Jessie Young Hatcher. She was a graduate of the Mechanicsville high school. On Dec. 29, 1921, she married Lucian E. Trump.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion auxiliary and the Presbyterian church. She spent most of her life in Mechanicsville working as a bookkeeper at the Pioneer Press, later at Lamont's Garage and for some time as a clerk at the post office.

She is survived by 2 sons, Mervin, Mechanicsville and Dean, Cedar Rapids; 2 grandsons; a granddaughter and a sister, Mrs. Ed Broell, Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian, and her parents.
