Funeral services for Grover McNee, 90, were held at the Presbyterian church in Mechanicsville April 7 with the Rev. Norman Lawton officiating. Pallbearers were James Cruse, Albert Zenishek, Merle Clifton, Lester Nicoll, David Edwards and Robert Davis. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Mrs. E. H. Littig was organist and Mrs. Floyd Siver was soloist. The Morgan Funeral home in Mt. Vernon, was in charge.

Mr. McNee died at the Hallmark Nursing home in Mt. Vernon April 5.

The son of Peter and Lavina Rate McNee, he was born on the family farm 4 miles southwest of Mechanicsville March 25, 1883. He maintained a strong interest in the farm and in 1912 got possession of the homestead that his grandfather, Duncan McNee, received from the United States government in 1839.

He was married to Bertha Jackson, daughter of Richard and Margaret Jackson Sept. 30, 1921. The following spring they returned to Mechanicsville from California and he lived in the home on Main street in the west part of Mechanicsville until Dec. 8, 1971 when he went to the Hallmark Nursing home.

His wife died March 29, 1967. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ida Crawford and a brother, Harry.

He is survived by a sister, Maggie McNee, a brother, Rudolph, who lives on the home farm and several nieces and nephews.
