Funeral services for Mrs. Maude M. Meader, 83, a resident of Mechanicsville for 8 years, were held at Manchester, Jan. 29, with the Rev. James Nelson officiating. Burial was in the family lot at Pine View cemetery, Delaware. Mrs. Meader died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Jan. 27, following a brief illness.

Maude Michaels, daughter of William Michaels and Anna Hogg Michaels, was born Aug. 22, 1889 on the parental farm east of Ryan, in Delaware county. She received her education in the rural schools of Delaware county.

She was united in marriage with Edgar L. Meader Feb. 21, 1904 at Hopkinton. Following their marriage they lived for a short time at Hopkinton and then moved to Manchester to make their home. They lived there until his death in December, 1946, and then she continued to make her home in Manchester until about 8 years ago when she moved to Mechanicsville.

She is survived by 3 sons, Leonard, Delaware; Francis E., Alburnett and Walter R., Mechanicsville; 2 daughters, Mrs. Sara Fierstine, Mechanicsville and Mrs. Clellan (Betty) Fuller, Aitkin, Minn.; 35 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and 4 sons.
