Funeral services for Cecil Marvin Winchip, 72, were held at Chapman's Funeral home May 11 with the Rev. James Nelson officiating. Frederick Meyer was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Edward Speer. Pallbearers were Harlan Miles, Harold Meyer, William Hansen, Charles Thompson, Leonard Koppenhaver and Fred W. Meyer.

The son of Stephen and Mabel Tubbs Winchip, he was born near Delmar April 3, 1901. He was married to Jessie Bodkin at Maquoketa May 30, 1918.

He farmed before retiring and had been a resident of the Stanwood area for 55 years.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sisters, Mrs. Oma F. Winkel and Mrs. Virginia Brandenburg, both of Delmar. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
