Clarence - Dilman W. Oberholser, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 23, in the Shady Corners Rest Home, Lowden, where he had made his home for the past few months. Funeral services were conducted in the McGinnes Funeral home, DeWitt, Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Flanagan, officiating.

Dilman W. Oberholser was born March 16, 1877 in Welton, the son of Harriet and Dilman Oberholser. He attended school in Clinton county and on April 4, 1903 was married to Dora Irons. They farmed in the Welton area until 1921 when they moved to Clarence and he was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. After his retirement from the railroad he took up plastering and brick laying.

Mr. and Mrs. Oberholser celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1953. Mrs. Oberholser preceded him in death March 23, 1959, as did three children who died in infancy.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter, Louis, Boone; Irene, Coggon; and Burrell, Cedar Rapids; and five grandsons.

Pallbearers were J. E. Shriver, Tom Clemmens, Paul Kennedy, John Stock, Robert Kelly and Lester Kelly, all of Clarence. Burial was in Oakview cemetery, Welton.
