Mechanicsville - Bob Young, 48, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held in Horner's Funeral Home, Friday at 2 p.m.

Mr. Young was an employee of Lamont's Garage.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. William Young, a sister, Velma and two brothers, Harlan and Marshall, all of Mechanicsville.

Mechanicsville - Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. in the Horner Funeral Home for DeVere B. Young, with Pastor George Gallaher officiating. Mr. Young died Monday, Sept. 1 of a heart attack in Mechanicsville.

DeVere B. Young was born Jan. 21, 1916, in Mechanicsville, the youngest son of William and Blanche Young.

He was married August 1, 1940 to Leone Van Der Mark. Mr. Young joined the Air Force on Jan. 15, 1943 and was honorably discharged on Dec. 5, 1945. He has been employed as a mechanic since that time.

Mr. Young was a member of the American Legion and a graduate of the Mechanicsville High School.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leone, on March 5, 1963 and by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Blanche Young, a sister, Velma, two brothers, Marshall and Harlon, and a nephew, Harlon William, all of Mechanicsville.

Cletus Pottebaum, Clellan Fuller, Mervin Thimmes, Merven Trump, Lowell Dauber and Harry Jackson were pallbearers. Interment in the Rose Hill cemetery.
