Mr. Howard Safley, an esteemed Tipton man, passed away about 5:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, after an extended illness.

Mr. Safley had been a prominent farmer of Cedar county, moving to Tipton a few years ago, where he has since made his home.

He is survived by his wife, two sons Don and Edward Safley, two daughters Mrs. Harry Brommell and Mrs. Gorda Harris of Tipton; as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.

The Sheets funeral home is in charge of funeral arrangements, which have not been definitely completed and cannot be announced at this time.
