Edward Reginald Struck, Tipton resident the past four years, died at his home Tuesday night, after several weeks' illness. He was born in Wheatland, Iowa, Sept. 28, 1870, and for a number of years lived in Clarence community before coming to Tipton. He was married in Tipton to Maude Simpson, November 21, 1945. He has engaged in mason work and contracting since coming to this city. He had built a new brick residence in the north part of Tipton, where he resided.

He is survived by his wife, and other relatives and friends. His parents were Otto Struck and Wilhelmina Struck.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Sheets funeral home in Tipton, with Rev. Raymon Ferguson officiating. Interment will be made in the Lowden cemetery.

Edward R. Struck, son of Otto and Wilhelmina Struck, was born at Wheatland, Iowa, on Sept. 28, 1870. He departed this life at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, Ia., on Oct. 28, 1952, at the age of 82 years and one month. Mr. Struck had been taken to the hospital about a week preceding his death for treatment of heart ailment from which he had been suffering the past year.

Mr. Struck grew to manhood in Wheatland where he followed his trade as a stone mason.

On April 10, 1895, he was married to Miss Jessie M. Reid in Lowden, Iowa. They continued to live in Lowden until 1914 when they moved to Clarence to operate a restaurant. In 1919 he returned to his original trade as a stone mason.

To this union four children were born, two of whom died in infancy. A daughter, Myrtle and son Reid passed away after reaching maturity.

In 1940 his wife died. He then moved to Wheatland and made his home with a sister, Mrs. Augusta Riedesel, until his marriage on Nov. 21, 1945, to Mrs. Maude Simpson in Tipton. They made their home in Mechanicsville for a year following their marriage. He then built a home in Tipton where he spent the last years of his long and active life.

He is survived by his wife, Maude; two brothers, Wm. of Bever Dam, Ky., and Arnold of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. August Riedesel of Wheatland, Iowa, and Mrs. Minnie Rath of Davenport, Iowa; also many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Besides his first wife and children he was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mrs. Maraget Russell, and one brother Henry.

He was a member of Mt. Hope Lodge 501, A.F. & A.M. of Clarence, Iowa.

Mr. Struck was a kind and considerate husband and a good neighbor and friend. He shall be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services were in the Sheets funeral home in Tipton with Rev. Raymon Ferguson, pastor of First Presbyterian church, in charge. Burial was at Lowden, Iowa, where a graveside Masonic service was held.
