Mildred May Richards, daughter of Andrew D. and Kate Wymer Linn, was born Dec. 16, 1890, in Crawford county, Iowa, and passed away at St. Luke's Methodist hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Oct. 23, 1952, following a short illness.

Mrs. Richards lived most of her life in Cedar county, Iowa. She received her education in the Pedee country school in Iowa township.

On April 29, 1916, she was united in marriage to Paul Richards at Tipton. They continued to make their home in Tipton. To this union one daughter, Marie Linn, was born.

She was a member of the First Methodist church of Tipton, the Woman's Relief Corps, and the Helping Hand Rebekah lodge. In 1951 she received recognition for twenty-five years of membership in the lodge.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and daughter; one brother, Earl A. Linn, of Atalissa; her step-mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Linn, of Tipton, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Wesley; one sister, Chloe Smith; and two brothers in infancy.

Memorial services were held Saturday, Oct. 25, 1952, at the Sheets funeral home in Tipton with Rev. A. C. Long, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Officers of Helping Hand Rebekah lodge conducted the ritualistic rites of the order at the conclusion of the service. Interment was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
