Funeral services were held July 27 for Russell Dean Dickey. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Dickey of Mechanicsville. The youth died July 24 at the University hospital in Iowa City, following a one car accident east of Mechanicsville on a gravel road.

Russell Dickey was born Feb. 5, 1950, at Muscatine. He was a lifetime resident of the Mechanicsville area and was educated at the Mechanicsville schools. He was employed by the Zearing Tree Service.

Services were held at the Methodist church in Mechanicsville with the Rev. James R. Nelson officiating. Pallbearers were Michael Albaugh, Douglas Albaugh, Dennis Albaugh, William Isabel, Calvin Woodard and Patrick Mullen. Mrs. LeRoy Wendt was the vocalist and Mrs. Robert Oxley the organist. Mrs. William Zearing and Mrs. Lewis Hartman were in charge of the flowers. Burial was at the Rose Hill cemetery in Mechanicsville.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Dickey; a brother, Fred Dickey, Mechanicsville and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
