Mrs. Edith Garner, 88, died May 22 at Long Beach, Calif. according to word received in Clarence.

The former Edith Lyle was born Feb. 13, 1878 on a farm near Clarence. She attended Tipton high school and was married to Pearl Garner June 14, 1897 in the York Prairie church. They farmed east of Clarence until 1935, when they moved to California.

Mrs. Garner is survived by 2 sons, 4 daughters, a sister, Mrs. Anna Budelier and a brother, Art Lyle, both of Clarence.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Mrs. Harry (Mellie) Gay.
