Graveside services for Dale B. Johnston, 65, Tipton, will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 20, 1988 at Westview cemetery in Kirkville. Mr. Johnston was cremated, with arrangements handled by the Callahan Funeral Home in Iowa City. A memorial fund has been established and funds can be sent to Sandy Reginnitter at Route 1, Box 18, Tipton.

Mr. Johnston died Aug. 14 at the Veterans Administration hospital in Iowa City following a short illness.

The son of Guy and Hazel Sedora Johnston, he was born June 9, 1923 in Wapello county. He attended Kirkville area schools and graduated from a diesel mechanics school in Chicago, He worked for the Altorfer Co. in Cedar Rapids and moved to Tipton in 1982. He was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Johnston is survived by a son, Jerry, Denver, Colo.; 3 daughters, Sandy Regennitter, Tipton; Susan Foreman, Clarence and Sherry Johnston, Cedar Rapids; 6 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Rex and Robert Keith, Ottumwa and Virgil, Eddyville; and 2 sisters, Bonnie Garner, Ottumwa and Judy Kennedy, Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
