Taken from yesterday's Clarence Sun - Mrs. Rhoda Hoskin was born in Licking county, Ohio, March 6, 1818. Her maiden name was Parr. Early in life she united with the Campbellite church of which denomination she remained a member. In March, 1836, she was married to Harry Hoskin, who preceded her to the beyond forty years ago. To this union was born eleven children of whom Mrs. Samuel McClellan is the only surviving child. During the year 1837 she came to Iowa where she resided ever since with the exception of eleven years spent in Missouri. She was a patient sufferer for many years; and death claimed her on Oct. 8, 1909. She was permitted to attain to the ripe old age of 91 years, 7 months, 2 days. The funeral was held at the McClellan home on Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, being conducted by Rev. P. Bock of the Presbyterian church. The remains were then taken to the Van Horne cemetery south of Lowden and laid to rest.
