Adolph Hauschild, a painter by trade, who some years ago resided for several years here at Lowden, died last Friday evening at his home in Davenport after four weeks suffering with stomach trouble.

Mr. Hauschild was born at Elmhagen near Kiel, Germany, on April 6th, 1848. He served in the German army as "Garde Fueselier," and as such went through the Franco-Prussian war 1870-1871.

In 1875 he was married to Doris Brueggemann, his now sorrowing widow, who with one son and one daughter, survive to mourn Mr. Hauschild's demise.

Hauschild's came to America in 1881, and with the exception of their few years' residence at Lowden always resided at Davenport.

Mr. Hauschild was a leading member of the Kampf-Genossen Verein '70 '71, and also belonged to several other societies at Davenport. He was always a jovial and happy man, honest, and upright in all of his dealings, and his friends were a great many.

Funeral was held Sunday afternoon under the auspices of the Kampf-Genossen Verein, and interment in the Fairmont cemetery at Davenport.
