Mrs. Hatcher, 80, Succumbs Jan. 14

Mechanicsville - Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 17, in the Methodist church for Mrs. Mae Hatcher, with Rev. James Nelson officiating.

Mrs. Hatcher died in the Hallmark Nursing Home, Mt. Vernon, on Saturday, Jan. 14.

She was born on March 3, 1886, in Cedar county, the daughter of Duane and Laura Scott Kohl. She was educated within Cedar county and lived much of her life in Mechanicsville.

She was a member of the Methodist church, the Rebekah Lodge and the Social Club. She was married to Mort Hatcher in April, 1945.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Mary V. Butler, and 2 brothers, Oscar and Tom.

She is survived by 2 brothers, Joe Kohl, Mechanicsville and Alvin Kohl, Dallas, Texas; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ray Reemer, Denver, Colo. as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
