Funeral services for Walter H. Gade, 84, former Tipton resident, were held at the Sheets & Son Funeral home Nov. 16 with the Rev. Paul Skelley officiating. Burial was in the Massillon cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike, Wyatt and Richard Gade, Randy and Mark Browne and Eric Gilson. Sharon Stiff was organist.

Mr. Gade died at the Jackson county hospital, Maquoketa, Nov. 13.

The son of Henry and Matilda Lietz Gade, he was born at Lowden Feb. 16, 1903. He was educated in the Cedar county rural schools. He married Anna M. Juehring at Lowden Sept. 14, 1921. A farmer and industrial worker, he lived in the Lowden-Tipton area before moving to Maquoketa 2 years ago.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Fern) Holtz, Lost Nation; a son, Richard, Onslow; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Louis. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son and a granddaughter.
