Clarence - Funeral services for William H. Harness, 74, were held Monday at the Chapman Funeral Home, with Rev. James Lusher officiating. Mrs. Robert Joslin was at the organ. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lawrence Kleppe, Warren Claney, Marvin Schilling, Ira E. Long, Richard Elijah and Henry Klatt.

Mr. Harness was born May 31, 1893 at Defiance, the son of George and Nancy Bouldinghouse Harness, and died at his home on Sept. 16. He was married at Defiance to Mabel Cleveland on April 26, 1916. He was a farmer and had lived in the Clarence area for 47 years.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald, Grandview, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Elijah, Stanwood; a brother, John, Mechanicsville; 2 sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hulsebus, Worthington, Minn. and Mrs. Kathryn Wright, Beverly Hills, Calif.; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
