Harry Bromell, a Tipton business man for many years, was summoned Wednesday of last week, following an extended illness.

Harry N. Bromell, son of the late William H. and Mary E. Bromell, was born Oct. 16, 1890, near Clarence, Iowa and passed away Wednesday evening, Dec. 31, 1952, at his home in Tipton, following a lingering illness.

On December 31, 1908, he was united in marriage to Martie R. Bell, who passed away Jan. 16, 1942. To this union two children were born, Margaret E. and William L.

He was united in marriage to Mrs. Bernice Rickard, Dec. 31, 1943.

He spent his first two years at farming after his marriage, and worked for Charles and Wm. Cottrell in blacksmith shop and implement store for over 15 years. The past twenty years he has been employed as bulk plant operator for Mid-Continent Petroleum Corp.

He joined the Tipton Presbyterian church in 1909 and was a member of the Modern Woodmen lodge and Loyal Order of Moose.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife Bernice, his daughter Margaret Baughman of Caddo, Okla., his son William L. of Davenport, one brother, Joseph L. of Tipton, and four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Friday and Mrs. Frances Sayre of Tipton, Mrs. Hattie Ohrt and Miss Ada Bromell of Waterloo, Iowa, 5 grandchildren, a step-son, two step-daughters, and a host of friends.

His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 3, 1953, at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home in Tipton with Rev. Louis Penningroth of Iowa City officiating. Art Hain sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beyond the Sunset", with Mrs. C. C. Crawford at the organ. The burial was in Tipton Masonic cemetery.
