Dr. F. J. McAllister Dies at Hawarden

Word was received here last week of the death of Dr. F. J. McAllister at his home in Hawarden, Iowa. As a boy and young man Dr. McAllister was a resident of Tipton, where he was well known and well liked. After completing his medical course he located at Hawarden, where he rapidly built up a large practice. When the war broke out and the call came for surgeons he was among the first to volunteer. He was given the rank of major and until discharged at the close of the war rendered fine service with the army in France. He came out of the army broken in health and his death followed a long illness.
