Former Durant Woman Passes Away At Long View, Texas

Durant, la- Countess Odon de Szaak the former Miss Florence Elizabeth Schiele, 25, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Schiele of Durant, passed away Saturday in Long View, Texas according to word received by her parents. Details of her death were not stated.

Mr. Schiele left by plane for Texas expecting to return here with the remains on Wednesday a.m. Funeral service will be held this Thursday afternoon at the Runge mortuary with burial in Durant Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, her parents and a sister Mrs. M. A. Blu of Riverside, ILL.

Miss Schiele was born in Durant March 13, 1916 and was graduated from Durant high school and Bryant and Stratton college of business in Chicago. She also attended the university at Michigan and university at Iowa City. An accomplished musician she served as pianist with the Tri-City Civic Band and also was a member of high school orchestra.

She was married to Count Odon de Szaak in Des Moines on August 1, 1938 and the couple had been residing in Long View, Texas the last two years.

Count de Szaak was originally from Hungary, coming to the United States in 1912.
