Final rites for Alwino Julius Rix, 77, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (April 24) at Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden with the Rev. Paul Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the Lowden cemetery. Mrs. Walter Helmold is organist and the Muhs brothers will sing.

Pallbearers are Lester Rix, Clifford Graf, Herbert Freese, Bricen Krafock, Harold and Elmer Wollensen. Mrs. Martha Hamdorf and Mrs. Lester Rix are in charge of flowers.

Mr. Rix, a retired farmer, died at the home of his brother, Paul, in Clarence, April 21.

The son of Frederick and Sophia Busching Rix, he was born at Lowden, Jan. 12, 1898 and was married to Martha Kahl, who preceded him in death in 1949. He was married to Fern Mathews in 1951.

He farmed in the Lowden area for many years and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, 3 step-daughters, Mrs. Donald Wehde, Tipton, Mrs. Herbert Wiener, Savannah, Ill., and Mrs. Robert Lawson, West Burlington; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Paul, Clarence and George, Davenport and a sister Mrs. Louis Puck, Davenport.
