Mrs Dorothea Licht, 104, Lowden's oldest resident died Monday morning at her home here.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran church, Lowden. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery. Mrs Lorenz Hoffmeier will be the organist and the Male Choir will sing.

Pallbearers will be Robert Licht, Delbert Licht, Gordon Licht, Carl Bunge, Robert Bunge and Curtis Stoltenberg. Mrs Stoltenberg and Miss Doris Haesemeyer will be in charge of flowers.

Dorothea Ernsting was born October 31, 1870 in Hanover, Germany. When she was eleven years old she came to America with her mother, her brother and three of her sisters. They came directly to Lowden where she has resided until her death. She attended Trinity Parochial school and was a member of Trinity Church.

She married Louis Licht in 1895 and they lived northeast of Lowden until retiring in 1924 when they moved to Lowden. He died in 1944. Her daughter, Miss Luella has resided with her since that time.

She was a member of Trinity Ladies Aid and Sewing Circle and had served in various offices.

On October 31, 1970, the 100th birthday of Mrs Licht was observed with an anniversary reception at Trinity Fellowship Hall with 250 attending.

Mrs Licht is survived by daughters, Luella and Mrs Dora Bunge of Lowden; Mrs Louise Haesemeyer of Elmhurst, Ill.; Mrs Ernestine Suhr of Adams, Wisc.; and Alma Licht of Davenport; Mrs Ray St John of Calamus; sons, Gerhard of Lowden and Emil of Stanwood; also 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
