7 October 1943 - The Clarence Sun
Once more as death invades our community, we who remain should be reminded that the good qualities found in our parents should be exhibited in ourselves also if these good qualities are to survive. Such is the case with Mrs. Minnie Robinson, who passed away at her home northeast of Clarence Saturday morning, October 2nd, 1943.
Minnie Katherine Ralston, daughter of John and Rebecca Berryhill Ralston, was born on a farm in Dayton township, Cedar county, Iowa, April 20th, 1873. She grew to womanhood on the farm, working out several years. On September 6th, 1899, she was united in marriage with J. Ernest Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a prosperous farmer, loving the soil. Nearly twenty-five years ago they bought the place which was to be their home for the rest of their lives, in Massillon township. Thus Mrs. Robinson's life was spent in Dayton and Massillon townships.
To them were born five children, Harold, who passed away in infancy, Mrs. Margaret Behrens of Stanwood, Herbert of Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Lester at home, and Lloyd in the armed forces of the United States in Australia.
Mrs. Robinson deeply loved her home, and her life was centered in the interests of it and her family. Her friendly, kindly nature, her desire for matters to run peacefully, was a benediction upon all with whom she came in contact. She was a member of the Methodist church, and ever sought to exemplify in her life the teachings of her Savior.
She had not enjoyed the best of health for several years, but even so, the end of life came very suddenly to her on Saturday morning.
She leaves, besides the family just named, two grandchildren, three brothers, Clinton Ralston of Mackintosh, Minn., Allen of Bowling Green, Mo., and Fred of Meservey, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Oma Van Wormer of Clarence.
Funeral services were held from her home on Wednesday afternoon, October 6th, conducted by Gordon Smith, assisted by Rev. A. B. Chamberlin. Music was furnished by Mesdames, Eleanor Sawyer, Velma Schilling and Helen Lane. The pall bearers were Harry Feddersen, Henry Bauman, E. O. Behrens, H. E. Dewell, Amos Noring and Hugo Rix. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Clarence cemetery.
