Mrs Christine Hamdorf, 82, of Massillon, died in her home some time Sunday night. She was alone at the time and was sitting in a chair dead when her son, Louis, who lived with her, came home about 1:30 a.m. Her death was a shock to her family and friends as she appeared in her usual spirits and health during the day.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the home at 1 o'clock and in the Massillon church at 1:30 o'clock. The Rev. F. J. Abele of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church of Lowden will officiate. "God Will Take Care of You", and "Face to Face With Christ My Savior", will be sung by a trio composed of Mrs R. A. Pancratz, Mrs Ferd. Conrad and Miss Hazel Sennett. Pallbearers are Henry Richmann, Paul Ruprecht, Herbert Creger, Arthur Emerson, Emer Mowry and William Steinke. The Misses Hazel Hamdorf, Esther Riedesel, Blanche Hamdorf and Elma Mohl, granddaughters of the deceased, will have charge of the flowers.

Anna Christine Hamdorf, nee Lienan, was born April 7, 1854, in Motzen, Holstein, Germany. On July 14, 1873, she was married to Christian Hamdorf and to this union was born nine children, three daughters and six sons, of whom a son Henry died at the age of four years in Germany.

In the spring of 1885 Mr and Mrs Hamdorf and chldren came to America and located near Lost Nation, where they resided until 1897 when they moved to a farm near Massillon. In 1911 they retired from active farming and moved to Massillon where Mr. Hamdorf died Nov. 14, 1922.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Minnie Ehlers of Prairie City, Oregon, Mrs Fred Mohl of Lost Nation and Mrs Herman Riedesel of Wheatland; five sons, Chris, Albert and Louis of Massillon, William of Lowden, and Edward of Wheatland; and 21 grandchildren. She also leaves one brother living in Germany. One sister preceded her in death.
