Obituary -

SARAH ELIZABETH PEDEN, was born in Rochester, Iowa October 2nd, 1850 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Nancy Barnes in Tipton, Iowa June 13 th, 1922 being at the time of her death 71 years, 8 months and 11 days of age.

She was united in marriage to William Joseph Comstock May 7, 1881. To this union nine children were born. Three of the children and the father preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her demise,her children; Mrs Wm. Barnes (Nancy ) of Tipton, Iowa; Mrs Thomas J. House (May ) of Riceville, Iowa.; Mrs J. R. Stanton
( Sadie) of Sedalia, Missouri; Mrs Leneal (Gertrude )Kempe of Red Oak,Iowa; Frank Comstock of Riceville, Iowa and Matthew Comstock of Moscow, Iowa. Also four sisters, two brothers, 27 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs Comstock spent all her life in and near Rochester, Iowa. Was a charter membr of the Rochester M. E. Church to which she was always loyal and during her last illness in the hours of suffering found comfort and hope in the Christ she loved.

Funeral srvices were conducted from the church at Rochester, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 and interment was made in the Rochester cemetery.
