L. L. Gerlock, 50, Cumberland, Dies

CUMBERLAND--Louie R. Gerlock, 50, a lifelong resident of the Cumberland vicinity, died at 8:30 this morning at Still hospital in Des Moines, where he had been a patient since Nov. 7. He had been in failing health several months and suffered from a kidney ailment.

Mr. Gerlock was born near Cumberland July 18, 1903, the son of William E. and Nellie Gerlock and attended Cumberland schools. He was married to Edith Smith of Lewis at the home of her parents March 30, 1927, and they have farmed two miles southwest of Cumberland since. Mr. Gerlock was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are the widow, his mother, Mrs. Nellie Gerlock of Cumberland; two children, Mrs. Harold Steffen and Robert Gerlock, both of Cumberland; a brother, Floyd Gerlock of Cumberland; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Behrends of Wiota and Mrs. John Hanssen of Cumberland and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
