Mrs. Will Guttenfelder of Near the City Passes Away this Morning. Recently Operated On.
Mrs. Maud W. Guttenfelder of near the city died this morning at 2:30 at the Evangelical Covenant hospital at Omaha, where she had been a patient for four weeks. Mrs. Guttenfelder under went a tumor operation several weeks ago and was making a good recovery and seemed much improved yesterday, but suffered a sudden relapse late last night, resulting in her death.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Iebsen, she was born Nov. 4, 1877, near Marne. She was married to Will Guttenfelder Jan. 6, 1897. She was a lifelong resident of Cass county.
Two Children.
Surviving besides the husband are two children, two sisters, a brother and three grandchildren. The children are Walter of Davenport and Raymond at home. The sisters are Mrs. J. D. McAfee and Mrs. N. C. Clausen and the brother is George Iebsen, all residents of Atlantic.
The body was brought overland to Atlantic today and was taken to the family home, where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
