Passes Away at Her Home in Grove Township as Result of Pneumonia—Was 78 Years of Age.
Mrs. Eliza Franklin, wife of Washington Franklin, died at her home in Grove township about twelve o’clock Monday night, death resulting from pneumonia after an illness of about a week’s duration. Mrs. Franklin and her husband, who survives her, had lived on the place where she died for thirty-five years. She was seventy-eight years of age and was a native of Pebble county, Ohio.
She leaves three children besides her husband and two brothers. The children are George W. Franklin of the Homestead of Des Moines; Mrs. Isaac Wyckoff of this county and Mrs. Will Kenilworth [Chenoweth] of San Francisco. The first two were at her bedside when she died, and the latter being unable to reach here. Her brothers are Oliver and Samuel Hastings [Hasty] of Indiana.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at the late home at ten o’clock, the Rev. W. B. Crewdson officiating, and the interment will be made in the Atlantic cemetery.
