Ira Harris, 66, Dies Of Heart Attack

Ira Albert Harris, 66, of 701 Hickory street, died at 5:35 Monday evening at the Atlantic Memorial hospital. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday after suffering a heart attack. He was employed at Safeway and had worked in Atlantic grocery stores a number of years.

Mr. Harris was born on a farm northwest of Atlantic Jan. 13, 1895, the son of Edward E. and Margaret Ann Acker Harris and grew to manhood in that vicinity, serving in World war I. He was married to Hazel Leffingwell at Papillion, Nebr., April 17, 1936. He was a member of the Buck Creek Methodist church, Disabled Veterans and Veterans of World war I.

Surviving are his wife and a sister, Mrs. C. E. Malone of Atlantic. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Effa Smith, Mrs. Marie Karwal and Mertie, who died in infancy and two brothers, Leo and Lester Harry Harris.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. Harold A. Smith and Rev. J. Ray Heckert officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery, with a graveside military service.
