Funeral Services Wednesday for Mrs. Malone

Mrs. Margaret A. Malone, 90, wife of the late T. L. Malone and a resident of the Berry Nursing home, died at 3:35 p.m. Monday at the Cass County Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient since Oct. 3.

Mrs. Malone was born near Cumberland April 2, 1852, the daughter of John and Mary Blake Coughlin. She grew to womanhood in that vicinity and was a rural school teacher at the time of her marriage to Mr. Malone at the Reno Catholic church Nov. 3, 1904.

She later was employed at the Wiota post office with her husband while he was postmaster there and following his death she moved to Omaha, where she operated a small bakery. In recent years she lived with a sister, the late Mamie Coughlin, until entering the Berry Nursing home in 1969. She was member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church.

Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Fred McDermott of Wiota; two brothers, John and Joe Coughlin, living in Montana; four sisters, Mrs. Kate Morris, Loretta and Ann Coughlin and Mrs. Allen Chamberlain, all living in Montana and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a stepson, Clyde Malone.; two brothers, Tom and Charles Coughlin and two sisters, Mamie and Rose Coughlin.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with Msgr. Bart Kane officiating. The rosary will be held at 8 o’clock tonight at the Roland Funeral home and the casket will be taken to the church Wednesday morning.
