LONG TIME EXIRA RESIDENT PASSES AT HIS HOME THERE

Noel Jobes, Who Lived There Fifty-five Years, Victim of Flu After Short Illness; Funeral Tuesday P. M.

EXIRA, IA., FEB. 26.—(Special to News-Telegraph)—Noel Jobes, a resident of Exira for fifty-five years, died at 9:30 Sunday morning at his home here. Death was the result of influenza and came after a few days’ illness. He was taken ill Monday of this week. Deceased was past 76 years of age.

Born In Illinois.

Mr. Jobes was born in Bristol, Kendall county, Ill., on the 27th of December, 1846, and came to Exira fifty-five years ago. For many years he farmed but of late years he and his wife had conducted a boarding house. His wife, who with two daughters, survives him, was Miss Lany Bennett. The two daughters are Mrs. Lucia Durr of Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Kittie Jeffries of Plover, Iowa. The daughters are both here, as well as Mrs. Jeffries husband. Deceased also leaves two sisters and two brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Henry Geist of Adair and Mrs. Herbert Archer of Mission, Texas. The brothers are George of Bridgewater and Walter of Montana.

Funeral Tuesday

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock, the Rev. C. E. Henry officiating, and interment will be in Exira cemetery. Services will be at the Community church.
