WELL KNOWN LADY DIES AT HER HOME YESTERDAY

Mrs. Doris Paulsen Passes Away After Long Illness. Was Born in Germany.

Mrs. Doris Paulsen, well known lady of Atlantic was a native of Germany, died at 4:30 yesterday afternoon at her home, 1001 Locust street. Death was the result of a long illness, which had its inception five years ago in a stroke of apoplexy and left her a partial invalid. Her last illness had extended over a period of several weeks.

Born in Germany

Mrs. Paulsen was born in Schleswig, Germany, on the 15th of June, 1856, being the daughter of Paul Bahnsen and wife. She was married in Germany on the 6th of May, 1877, to Jacob Paulsen and they came to America and Cass county in 1894, settling on a farm twelve miles southeast of Atlantic, where they lived up to thirteen years ago when they moved to Atlantic. Mr. Paulsen died here in February of 1917. Mrs. Paulsen was a member of the German Evangelical church. One child died in infancy and a son, John died about a year ago. Seven children survive. They are: Mrs. William Netts, Griswold; Paul Paulsen, Denver, Colo.; Henry Paulsen at home; Mrs. John Walter, Mrs. Henry Dimig and Mrs. Ray Malone, Atlantic; Mrs. Clint Herbert, Fulton, S. D. She also leaves one brother, Christian Bahnsen, at Lyons, Iowa, and ten grandchildren.

She was a patient sufferer and her thoughts were always for the comfort of others.

Funeral Monday.

Funeral services will be held at the late home at two o’clock Monday afternoon, the Rev. G. E. Hensel officiating, and interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery beside her husband.
